You don’t need me to tell you – social media is overrun with insta-influencers, trolls and lack of value. It’s getting worse by the day and disallows execs to get rid of Human Debt faster as it empowers their fear AND their confusion.
In this video, podcast and (AI-generated-but-endorsed) calmer version of my initial rant, here’s what I think we need to do: Point at Boll0x and call it out or (at least) starve them of any amplification. We live in a time where we barely have time to read each other’s books (or subscribe to each other’s pods, but don’t shy away from the rest of the debate on mine at duena.substack.com )

It’s hip to be part of niche tribes, but we’ve hit a wall. In lean times, we’re guarding our intellectual turf like dragons on a gold hoard, forgetting that our true power is amplified in unity, not seclusion.
Now, enter the Insta-influencer wave crashing into our business beaches. It’s one thing to flash a trendy hashtag or drop a thought bomb in 280 characters, but let’s not kid ourselves—it’s a smokescreen for the depth and emotional resonance we desperately need. This is the real talk: our discourse is starving for substance, not just style.
We’re at a tipping point. Burnout is the new baseline; the cash flow has hit a snag. Nobody’s boasting about their bank statements. Fear’s the background noise, and we all sing the same weary tune. But instead of linking arms, we’re at cross-purposes, splintered into a hundred micro-industries ready to go for the jugular over who’s more Agile, data-savvy, or DevOps dialed-in.
Here’s the call to arms: It’s high time we cut through the fluff. The Insta-influencer era, with its zero-calorie content, is threatening to dumb us down just when we need to smarten up. We can’t afford to let the vapid viral voices dictate our narrative. We’ve got to pivot from being just players to being the real powerhouses of thought and creation.
So, let’s not just tickle the surface with pseudo-engagement. Let’s drill deep into the bedrock of our collective intellect and passion. It’s about sparking ideas that resonate on a frequency that binds us, not one that blinds us. Let’s get real, and let’s get close. Because, at the end of the day, it’s the emotional currency of our ideas and goals that’ll bank the real change.
Let’s make it count by calling out Bollox and starving non-value of attention.
